LUMAS EDITIONS SIND NUR NOCH BIS ZUM 30. SEPTEMBER 2009 ERHÄLTLICH
Nach über einem Jahr Auseinandersetzung akzeptiert LUMAS nun endlich Stefanie Schneiders Kündigung mit sofortiger Wirkung. Grund für die Trennung sind Streitigkeiten über die allzu freie Nutzung der Werke Stefanie Schneiders sowie Abrechnungs -und Vergütungsfragen, aber auch die Entwicklung von Whitewall.
Stefanie Schneider war es unmöglich, weiterhin mit LUMAS zusammen-zuarbeiten. Stefanie Schneider sagt über LUMAS: “LUMAS ist der Aldi der Kunstposter. Die Qualität des LUMAS Portfolios ist rapide gesunken.”
Der Trennung waren einige gerichtliche Auseinandersetzungen voraus-gegangen, die in der 1. Instanz alle zu Gunsten von Stefanie Schneider ausgegangen sind. So hat sich LUMAS vor dem Kölner Landgericht ver- pflichtet, das im September letzten Jahres erschienene Buch COLLECTING FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY VOL. 1, HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LUMAS PORTFOLIO vom Markt zu nehmen, da die Verwendung von Werken Stefanie Schneiders in diesem Bildband nicht von dem nun beendeten Vertrag gedeckt war.

After more than a year of struggle LUMAS finally conceded to Stefanie Schneider’s notice of immediate termination of contract. There were several reasons for the break up, as LUMAS’ broad view regarding licence rights, accounting and payment matters, but also the development of “Whitewall”. “LUMAS has become the ALDI of art posters. The downfall of LUMAS portfolio’s quality was rapidly”, says Stefanie Schneider.
Several court struggles accompanied the break up, all closed in favour of Stefanie Schneider at first instance. In one of the cases at Cologne district court (Landgericht Köln), LUMAS obligated itself to take the book COLLECTING FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY VOL. I, HIGHLIGHTS OF THE LUMAS PORTFOLIO, published in fall 2008, off the market.
